Frequently Asked Questions

1

When should I have my maternity portraits done?

Maternity photos are typically done within the third trimester, usually between 36 weeks.

I would encourage you to double check with your doctor or health care provider, but yes, we can do a modified, low-key session in your home using either window light (preferred) or studio lighting. I can keep you in poses that have you sitting or lying down.

I'm on bedrest/modified bedrest. Can I still have maternity photos done?

Newborn portraits are typically done before 7 days, but absolutely no later than 10 days.

When should I have my newborn portraits done?

When you have decided to reserve a session with Sleepy Sheep, you can use the contact form here or you may email us directly at sleepysheepphotography.com. You may feel free to give us a call as well at 409-600-7911. We will walk you through the easy New Client enrollment.

How do I reserve a session?

We sure do! Please check out all of the options for new babies on our pricing page here.

Do you offer a first year package?

I can travel to your home for a travel rate of 50 cents per mile from my studio. I require at least an 8ftx8ft space to work in.

I've had a C-Section or am planning one. Can you do the newborn session in my home?

What kind of payments do you accept?

We currently accept cash, money order, check, credit, or paypal. However, we do ask that your deposit be paid in cash or money order.

8

Is the 30% retainer refundable?

Unfortunately, the retainer is currently non-refundable. However, we understand that sometimes emergencies crop up. If you need to, we'd be happy to help you reschedule your session. The first is free, but if you need to reschedule again, due to the busy nature of our schedule, we ask for another 30% retainer.

For maternity and children sessions, as part of the New Client Registration, I will ask you to provide your preferred background. Depending on your response, I have several different locations I like to shoot at.

For Newborn sessions, we will use a studio set-up, including a baby poser, a couple of props, and various backgrounds. This will either be at my permentent location or, for a travel fee (see above), your house.

Can I bring something special to my session?

While we will provide various props and accessories, you may feel free to bring any special items, especially heirloom pieces. We will do our best to encorporate them into your session.

11

Will I receive full resolution image? Can I print the portraits myself?

Your session price includes digital images that have been optimized for easy web sharing. This means that they are resized and not suitable for printing.

You will have the opportunity to purchase full resolution images and a print release at your personal heirloom ordering session. Without purchasing this print release you won't be able to print your images.

What kind of products are available for purchase?

We have numerous products available, including albums, holiday cards and birth announements, and more.

You will recieve a Welcome Packet at your consultation meeting which will include a full list of the products that I offer.
